Emily Amlin admits her house is a little crazy sometimes. That can happen when you're a single mom with six kids. Amlin finalized on Wednesday the adoption of her two youngest - Arianna, 7, and Adrian, 4. A third-grade teacher at C.O. Harrison Elementary School in Delhi Township, she took the day off to celebrate with her newly official family. Arianna was very excited about the party they planned.

There were very few dry eyes in the courtroom Friday for our National Adoption Day ceremonies. Fourteen kids in foster care joined seven families. It was our 10th annual event to bring awareness to adoption and the need for foster kids to find forever families.

It was their first foster placement, and it was meant to be temporary. But as time passed and attempts to reunite the boys with their original family faltered, the idea of adopting them took root.
