The Cress girls: Adoption Day siblings

This is another in our series of profiles introducing you to the families who will adopt during our Adoption Day ceremony Nov. 17.

Amanda Cress loves kids. She’s a kindergarten teacher and always planned to have children of her own.

When “God didn’t send me a husband and I didn’t have my own kids,” she knew she wanted to adopt. So she became a foster parent. And the girls who were her very first foster placement are now becoming officially her girls.

Autumn, Aubrey and August have been with her for two years and four months. They are now 9, 8 and 6.

Autumn is very motherly. She wants to take care of her younger sisters. She loves to sing and do cartwheels. Aubrey’s a country girl who’s not afraid to get dirty. She loves to play sports. August is great at entertaining herself and has quite an imagination. She is a Mama’s girl. All of the girls play soccer, basketball and softball.

They are all looking forward to their big day and to becoming a forever family.
