Hamilton County foster kids talk about adoption readiness

Hamilton County foster kids gathered this past weekend to talk about adoption readiness. These kids are in foster care, waiting for their forever families. The event was all about helping them develop the confidence they need to be ready and open when the time comes.

Perspective families do not attend the event as it is a time for the kids to identify their strengths and supports. The children participated in art therapy and interactive storytelling to help them express their thoughts and feelings regarding adoption. These ongoing conversations are very important as they are enabling kids to understand their options and practice self-determination.

Thank you to the Hamilton County JFS staff who hosted the event so these kids might know what adoption could look like for them. If you’re interested in adoption get involved today.
